Civil War Preservation Trust
Only about 20 percent of the actual land upon which the Civil War was fought is currently preserved. All of the rest of that hallowed ground is either unprotected or has already been destroyed. The race with encroaching development is on to save what is left.
Help us save an acre— or even just part of one, or maybe two or three. One of the battlefields CWPT is currently saving is Brandy Station, the site of the largest cavalry clash of the war and the opening engagement of the Gettysburg campaign.
By preserving battlefield land, CWPT also produces interpretative site markings and teaching resources and encourages heritage tourism.

Half of all American films made before 1950 and over 90 percent of films made before 1929 are lost forever.
Help us support "hands-on" preservation and restoration to ensure that works of art, historical records and essential representations of our culture survive for future generations.
The Film Foundation’s preservation successes include The Red Shoes and How Green Was My Valley, to name just two of over five hundred that might have otherwise been lost. Their current projects include Laurence Olivier’s Richard III.
